EmailTo all who knew our joany it is nearly 1year since our Joan departed our family of waifs and strays,i visited her graveside last week i was shocked to see an unkept grave there has been a simple wooden cross put there ,i may be right or werong in my assuption that it had been ereted by the social services.Tears flowed from my eyes and my heart, i contacted the funeral directors to see if i could make it more prsentable and that i would maintain the resting place of our Joan, the reply was a negative blow to my plans to decorate joans resting place, social services did not make any contact with me as they had promised please feel free to e-mail me no face book

EmailWhat a surprise! I wasn't in the Homes but I did attend Carleton Primary School during school year 1960 and 1961 before going on to the King's School. I see Diane and Lynne Hiorns mentioned in the archive. Lynne was my girl friend (she 9 and me 10) and we used to go to the Saturday matinee at the Crescent cinema. Her sister Dinae was indeed very pretty. Their father was a bookie. From my year I remember Andrew Liney, John Patrick and John Rhodes. There was a lovely girl from Carleton Homes called, I think, Deborah, whose family lived in Knottingley. I was at the new school when it opened and spoke at the opening ceremony to thank the local MP. If you are not already signed up to Friends Reunited ypu'll find some of us listed under the "Rookeries Carleton Primary School, Pontefract". Why not take a look.

Hello Nigel, and everyone, yes Nigel you are right, it has all gone quiet, so lets get the ball rolling again. Happy Christmas to everyone and hope you all have a great New Year, and to those of you who haven't had a very good year this year, sadly , with family bereavements and illnesses, i hope things will start to feel a little easier for you and your hearts not be too heavy laden, love to all of you, take care love Marylyn.x
